Arunima Bhattacharjee (she/her/hers) is a Graduate Student Intern at IOFA. She was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She came to the U.S. as a high school exchange student through the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange Program (K-L YES). Arunima received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon in Journalism. In Oregon, she was part of the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) where she spoke and presented about Bangladesh in the Eugene and Springfield area. She received a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Chicago where she researched freedom of the press and the role of the press to combat human trafficking. Currently, Arunima is a graduate student in social work at the University of Chicago Crown Family School where she is focusing on social policy and administration in a global context.
