Technical Assistance Partners

The International Organization for Adolescents (IOFA) and its partner, Courtney’s House, have collaborated for over a decade to create and implement survivor-led Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) to equip youth-serving organizations nationwide with improved knowledge and skills to address Youth Sex Trafficking (YST). Through the generous support of the US Office on Violence Against Women, this TTA is available to current and potential OVW grantees with a particular focus on projects funded through OVW’s Children Youth and Engaging Men Program (CYEM).

Specialized TTA Objectives

  • Obj.1: Reduce the number of challenges and gaps in response to YST
  • Obj. 2: Increase the capacity of CYEM grantees to prevent YST.
  • Obj. 3: Increase the capacity of CYEM to identify, serve, and refer YST.
  • Obj.4: Promote continuous monitoring and learning to develop sustainable practices and long-term impact in addressing YST.

Youth Sex Trafficking

Youth survivors of sex trafficking and youth at risk of sex trafficking remain under-identified and lack access to specialized, inclusive, youth-centered, comprehensive, and trauma-informed services, including prevention services. Through specialized TTA, IOFA and Courtney’s House aim to equip youth-serving organizations with enhanced knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively identify, prevent, and address YST.

Target Audience

Our specialized TTA targets OVW’s CYEM grantees and potential grantees, including a broad spectrum of partners like criminal justice entities, social service institutions, educational bodies, and anti-trafficking groups
